It is important to consider not only the road traffic rules, but also actual driving conditions. In autumn, especially in the mornings and evenings, temperatures can fall below 5°C or below zero. In these conditions, summer tires provide less grip, while winter tires are designed for temperatures below 7°C and provide significantly greater safety. The minimum permitted tread depth is 3 mm for winter tires and 1.6 mm for summer tires, but many manufacturers recommend replacement at 4–5 mm for winter tires and 2–3 mm for summer tires. The time to replace tires also depends on damage and uneven wear.
Why tire pressure is important?
Your tires are much more than pieces of rubber. Apart from brakes they are the most important safety feature of your vehicle. Keeping them properly inflated allows tires to do the job they are designed to do: maintain proper grip between the vehicle and the road and absorb shocks. When they are not properly inflated your tires cannot do their job properly. -Safety: low tire pressure means that more of the tire's surface is in contact with the ground, and thus more friction between the tire and the road. More friction means more uneven tread wear putting your tires at risk of tread separation, blowouts, and a serious accident. -Comfort: when the tire pressure is too high, less of the tire touches the ground and your ride will feel stiffer and "bouncer". Your vehicle's grip can be reduced and stopping distance increased, so you're more likely to feel every bump in the road. -Durability: Improper tire pressure can cause uneven and premature tire wear. Properly inflated tires tend to last significantly longer, meaning you won't need to buy new tires as often! -Fuel efficiency: Improper tire pressure can even affect fuel consumption. You can reduce your fuel consumption by up to 3% simply by maintaining the correct tire pressure.
Why can the steering wheel or the whole car vibrate while driving?
The "shaking" of the car (usually when driving at a speed of 80-120 km/h) can be caused by inaccurate wheel balancing, damaged tires or rims (can occur after hitting a curb or entering a pothole), and uneven failures of the brake system. In the beginning, when the steering wheel starts to shake, you need to pay attention to the front wheels, and when the whole car vibrates, to the rear wheels.
